All that others have said is great, but I'd stay away from the "altar" or the rest of the interior of the heiau. It is a major Hawaiian site that once hosted the most important religious ceremonies of the indigenous people. Be respectful, please.
Yes, it's essentially just piles of rocks but it's also a hidden historical wonder that is definitely worth a visit.
