Short and steep, 2ish mile hike to the pillbox and back. Went late November around 11am and took us (ages 30, 60 & 64) 1 hour 20 minutes round trip taking our time. It had rained the night before and was very muddy, did not help that we did it in slippers

Good hike with great view. It’s a moderate hike and can get slippery when muddy. We took our 3 yr old and he did ok. Can be tricky for the kids in some spots.
Humbling reminder of the sacrifice and brutality of war by that great generation. Paradise protected and preserved!

Trail up 2 the OldPillBox& Sea the best Stretch of Coast 4
This is a great hike. Unlike a lot of the other pillbox hikes oh Oahu, which are out in the open, this one you go through a lot of tree covered area. The trail was pretty easy walking, and the view from both pillboxes is fantastic. The second pillbox is a little harder to find, because you have to go past the first one and then down the hill a little ways. This one is definitely kid friendly.
