If you come to Hawaii, you have to take a local food. I do not exactly know but I know everybody wants almost the same way for tourist. My family took a great time for good taste of food. You can easily finding what is Hawaiian local food style.... enjoy.....
Best shrimp I've ever had! huge lineup but it goes very fast. My wife and I split the traditional Scampi shrimp and the Spicy Shrimp. Both we had with garlic rice! If you aren't a big garlic person, stick to the normal rice, as it's a very powerful flavor. If you are in the North Shore area this is an absolute must have! You wont be disappointed!
We went at about 12:30pm on a Thursday afternoon and the wait was only 10 min, but heard it can be like an hour. Pretty tasty shrimp!!! TIP: bring wet wipes with you!!! It is peel and eat and very messy, so that is a must have. Also, it is CASH only. Prices are pretty steep: $14/plate for 12 shrimp and rice.
There's such a big hype about this place but it definitely didn't live up to it. The line was long, its cash only, the shrimp was over cooked and my rice was under cooked. I love garlic so the flavour was decent. I don't know if it's because it's always so busy they just mass cook all the shrimp so it just sits there turning it from what it should be... Juicy shrimp to dry over cooked shrivelled up shrimp. Big Wave shrimp just down the road was way better. Cheaper and bigger and juicer shrimp. And they take credit cards too.
Customer service wasn't the best, orders can take 15+ minutes to make but felt it held up to the hype. Daughter and I got spicy shrimp, no refunds because it's so hot so only order if you can handle it. My daughter and I eat cayenne on just about everything every day and it was for sure spicy. Couldn't eat all of it but definitely enjoyed it as it had a lot of spice and heat. Prices were expensive. $14 for one plate, allowed a half order for my kiddo at $7. Good serving size. Only complaint- not sure why some places leave shells and tail on shrimp and then cover it in sauce. I personally don't like eating the shells and also don't prefer getting my hands super messy to peel off shell and tail.
