Beautiful scenery. We did the walk to the falls and explored along the way. They offer to chauffeur you to the falls for an extra charge. It is a long walk with several large hills so be prepared. They have serveral exhibits along the way. It's a good place to learn about the culture and native plants of the area. The waterfall is beautiful and the water was refreshing after the long walk. It was definitely worth it.
If possible plan your visit for a Tuesday. They have an awesome Luau on Tuesdays with an incredible cast of friendly, professional and authentic players. They teach the culture of Aloha by interfacing with their clientele. Truly Awesome.

This was a great little hike to see the Waimea falls. We rented a car and drove there and paid a small fee to hike about a mile. You can buy a shuttle ride up if you needed or wanted to. There are many different attractions during your hike and all of the different trees are marked to show you what they have. Once we got to the top they had life vests available for free and you are able to swim near the falls. They have a great setup her for you to enjoy.
Long walk through Waimea Valley along paved road. Lots of flowers, trees and plants to check out on the way. Wander off the main walk to check out historic Hawaiian style Village huts, ponds and various other items of interest. Eventually reach the falls. You have to wear life vest (provided) if wanting to swim in the falls (tip appreciated/expected of course). Good view of the falls. Drinks kiosk and toilets nearby.
