Dr. Abshier is exceptionally good with seniors. She always worked my mother in the day I called. Most importantly she always made my mother feel important, took lots of time with her, exhibited compassion for the whole family, and was supportive in every situation and adventure that came up, and there were many.
Dr.Abshier has been my husband's and my doctor for many years. She is very caring and knowledgeable and has always done the right thing for my family. Her staff is also very caring and professional. I like the fact that her office in a house and it has a relaxed atmosphere. I know many people on the north shore that are her patients and I would highly recommend her.
Let me start with saying I don't like to write reviews. I don't want to affect a local business but you need to know what you're walking into here. If there was a zero star option, you'd see it here. She treats your symptoms and 'diagnosis' as she put it quote motion and all, like a joke and in inconvenience to her. I've never encountered a doctor, office or staff like this. I'd say they need an attitude check but I'm pretty sure they're happy with who they are. Offered me no solutions or treatments and said ' I don't know what you expect me to do for a 15 month old injury' I came in for a referral. I honestly don't know how she stays open. Ive met more professional and caring people in the DMV.
Great family doctor. Always polite and personal. I never have to wait long and they certainly make me feel at home when I'm there.
I am so very grateful to have Dr. Abshier for my doctor. She has been my doctor since I came to the North Shore eight years ago. I feel I owe my life to her. Her level of care and involvement reminds me of old time doctors who used to make house calls.
I brought my mother with advanced Parkinson's from a nursing home on the mainland. I was told by that nursing home that my mother was dying and she wouldn't live through the trip. With her neurologist's support, and her RN daughter in-law assistance, we brought her to Hawaii. She arrived without medications. Dr. Abshier worked my mother in, within 14 hours of her arrival, the day before Thanksgiving. This allowed my mother to get her much needed medication, and have her TB test read, so she could be admitted into a foster care home that day. Dr. abshier's staff was also always positive and accommodating beyond expectations. Under Dr. Abshier and her staff's care she lived another year and a half. As a result of these experiences I am a big fan of Dr. Abshier.
I have included her in all my medical decisions, and she has been on top of every situation as it came up. I came into the office while having a heart attack earlier this year. Her staff jumped right into action. While at the hospital, Dr. Abshier monitored my condition 3-4 times a day, over and above the care of my heart specialist, Dr. Sonny Wong, whom she recommended.
