We stayed in Waikiki - checked all the boxes for the tourists stuff. I inquired about surf lessons down at Waikiki beach but we decided that we wanted to head out of town towards the North Shore in order to escape the city hustle and bustle. My wife scheduled the lessons with Ash for the following day.... we weren't sure what to expect.
We spent the rest of our lesson surfing, getting surfing tips, getting some local info, and just having a great time! These guys are awesome and I would highly recommend them. They took care of my whole family so both my wife and I were able to relax and enjoy the surf.

Following some ground school training we hit the surf. Ash and Reed took great care of us. My youngest partnered up with Reed (she needed an individual instructor as she is only 10). They hit the waves and she was the first one up! The rest of us followed suit with my wife being the second one to stand.
What a perfect way to start our Hawaiian adventure. We surfed with a family of six under the expert instruction of Ash and his capable partner. We were all beginners so started with an unrushed and thorough dry land introduction followed by a paddle out to where the waves were. At 51 and not in the best shape I though I would be far behind all of the boys but with the help of Ask and his partner I was able to keep up and be a part of the fun. If you are a mixed age and fitness group do contact Ash as his Aloha spirit shines through in everything he does.

My instructor, Reed is cool guy, very friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to catch a wave on the second try and fulfil my dream of surfing. Thanks guys, I had a great time.
The following day we headed to meet our instructors at the beach. After meeting Ash and Reed they immediately put my nervous wife at ease (she had a little mother hen going on with the kids).
They help me learn more about surfing and a little bit more than I need I had an amazing experience.!.
