On a deeper level. I reached a deep sleep about three times, I somehow woke myself up and was a little scared because I had no reference of how long I had been sleeping. But it was so nice to get my mind to be quiet for a little so I could experience such a good slumber, even for just a short period of time. It was really refreshing.

When I woke up that morning I actually had this awful knot that was in my back area. During the float I felt some relief to that area which was really nice.

Niv & Anisa make you feel extremely comfortable and provide everything that you need for a relaxing float experience. If you haven't tried floating before, they give you a complete overview and provide the perfect opportunity to dive in.

What a great experience - relaxing and rejuvenating in one! Nivi and Anisa, the owner's, are very nice and explained everything I needed to know for a calm float. All I wanted was to get in! Took a shower and got into the tank and to my surprise it felt familiar and soothing right away. My body unwound and I could hear my bones going back into place. From the start my mind went floating to all kind of interesting directions and thoughts. I got out feeling great and highly motivated for the day's tasks. I plan on doing this on a weekly basis and would recommend it to anyone.

The actual float

A place you can let go and leave all your worries behind. Give yourself permission to be present here.

What you take away from the float is totally personal to you. For me it was a relaxing getaway that left me feeling refreshed and ready for the day. I also felt relief from the knot in my back. My intention from the get go was to just see what floating is all about. I realized it’s a place I can go to quiet my mind, reset, and also help me physically.

Float 7/15/2017

Honestly, I was freaked out for about the first 5 minutes. I’m a naturally paranoid person with loud thoughts and sometimes I freak out(silently) when I’m in a tiny bathroom stall. It’s all in my head. So after talking to myself and telling myself to relax and that I’m in a safe place, I got to it. I realized it was actually really spacious inside the tank. It also helped that I went around feeling the walls, ceiling and floor just so I could ground myself for a second and finally centered myself in the tank.

In the tank it’s pitch black. The air is warm and a little salty but you’ll be okay. They also provide head support floats and I really wished I had not been so stubborn and just used it. I wasn’t uncomfortable but I think by using the head support float I would have been able to really let go. The water is of course salty. It’s kind of cool because it’s the same temperature as your skin. I don’t know how but I got a drop of the water near my eyes and did feel a little burn. I’m telling you this because I want you to be really careful and know that you will be okay. If anything just reach out of the tank for a clean cloth to dry your face.

I didn’t make it my whole 90 minutes. After the third time I woke up from my deep sleep I just felt like I was done. I slowly let myself out of the tank and hit the showers. Sometime while I was in the shower I heard the soft music start to play. That’s how you know it’s time to get out. So I wasn’t too far away from the 90 minutes. After I dressed and grabbed my stuff, I headed out to the patio and Anisa had a glass of water waiting for me.

For a long time I have been watching Anisa and her journey with floating. I FINALLY decided just to go for it and booked a 90 minute float. I wasn’t really sure what it was all about. I only knew that you go in a tank and it’s supposed to help your body float. I got to Anisa and Niv’s place in Pupukea on a quiet Saturday morning. I got the run down on the tank and the pre-float steps. You have to shower off first and it’s best if you float naked. Yes. Naked. You get over it. The shower and the tank made me feel like I was in a spa, who doesn’t want to feel like there are at the spa? Ear plugs are a must to help block out any unwanted noises and also keep the water out. They also provide you with soaps and ear plugs which is nice since I didn’t realize this was a thing.

I definitely need to go again. I feel like I would get a lot more out of it the second time around because I got all of the funky stuff out of the way this time. I also think the 90 minute session is the way to go for someone who’s never floated before. I think it really allows you the time to adjust and find that happy place.

After Float

Anisa has floated many times and you can tell she has a passion for it. I feel comfortable asking her any questions regarding floats. The tips she gave me before my float really did enhance the experience I had. Thanks Anisa!
